(866) 909-4458A fairly large county-scale landfill on the west edge of Sun Prairie where household and commercial trucks drop off final burial loads. Neighbors, landscapers and contractors use it when curbside or transfer options aren't available for big hauls. It's the kind of place with a scale house, long access roads and big rolling cells of compacted earth and refuse.
Drive up a drive lane toward a small entrance booth and a scale - tipping fees are handled by weight, so most vehicles stop twice, once in and once out. The site is open, dusty in dry months and muddy when it rains; trucks and roll-offs move slowly around the working faces. Pull up to the working area as directed by signage or traffic flow, unload where instructed, and then head back to the scale to finish. Commercial loads are accepted, and the overall operation is large enough that wait times can build during weekend or spring cleanup peaks.
