Seven Mile Creek Landfill, out on Olson Drive in Eau Claire, is the big county landfill where bulky trash gets buried. Locals and commercial haulers both use places like this; tipping fees are typically charged by weight and commercial loads often fall under different fee tiers.
Pull up to a small entrance booth and you’ll usually be sent over a scale - most landfills weigh trucks in and out so expect to stop twice. The roads inside are gravel and there are heavy trucks moving around, so take it slow when merging or backing up. The site is large with earthen mounds and working cells, and lines can form on weekends or during spring cleanup. Drop-off and recycling bins tend to sit off to the side of the main dumping area, though layouts vary from site to site.
