(304) 789-2101Terra Alta Recycling Department is the small-town recycling center on East State Avenue that locals use to drop off household recyclables and other divertible materials. Like many recycling centers, it accepts common items such as paper and cardboard, glass and plastic containers, aluminum and other scrap metal, and some nearby centers run occasional special programs for electronics or bulky items.
Drive toward 700 E State Ave and look for a modest entrance booth and a weigh scale near the drive-many centers charge by weight, so plan for a stop after unloading. Pull-up lanes feed into outdoor bins and open bays where cars and small trailers can back up; larger trucks may need extra room. The lot feels practical rather than pretty: pavement or gravel, stacks or piles of sorted material, and traffic cones directing flow. Expect lines on weekends, especially during spring cleanup season.
