T & M Recycling is a small recycling center on Aurora Ave in Terra Alta that locals use to keep stuff out of the landfill. Neighbors bring everything from cardboard and mixed paper to cans, bottles and common household recyclables. Because this is mountain country, people from nearby hollows drop by between runs to town rather than making a long trip for a single bag.
The site feels like a town-scale operation rather than a big industrial complex, so expect a straightforward drive-up layout with an intake booth or gate near the entrance and recycling bins or containers grouped beyond it. Pull up slowly and have material sorted as much as possible; bins are typically clustered to one side just past the initial stop. Weather can make the road or lot slick in winter, and weekends-especially spring cleanup-get backed up, so plan for a short wait. Loads are usually handled by weight or item type, so be ready to stop twice if there’s a scale at the entrance and again on the way out.
