Raleigh County SWA Landfill is the county landfill out on Fernandez Drive in Beckley, where both households and businesses haul the stuff that gets buried. Big trucks and pickup loads both show up here, so expect a working, no-frills place. It’s the final resting spot for non-recycled material - the one you use when other options are exhausted.
There’s a staffed entrance with a scale, and tipping fees are charged by weight, so stopping to be weighed is part of the process. Pull up to the booth, get directed where to go, unload at the drop area, and usually run back over the scale before leaving. The site looks industrial: dirt roads, heavy equipment moving, and large open cells where material is covered with soil. Weekends and spring cleanup times can get backed up, so plan for possible lines.
