Waste Facility

I-77 North/Southbnd West Virginia Welcome Center

1325 Highland Ave, Williamstown, WV 26187

(304) 375-2700

A small waste-disposal spot tucked by the I-77 Williamstown welcome center, used mostly by locals hauling regular household and yard stuff. Drivers from the surrounding valleys drop by between runs on the interstate and folks from Williamstown itself swing in for routine disposal.

There is an entrance with a booth where vehicles pull up to check in, and a scale that is typically crossed on the way in and again on the way out. The site looks like a compact municipal lot rather than a large industrial yard-paved areas, a few roll-off locations, and some bins visible from the access road. Traffic can back up into the entrance lane on busy days, so be prepared to wait a bit if several pickups are there. The layout is straightforward to follow once on site, with places to unload not far from the booth.

Before You Go

  • Bring a tarp or straps for loose loads; windy mountain weather can blow debris during transit and while unloading.
  • Approach from the interstate side lanes if possible; local roads can be tighter and have limited turning room for longer trailers.
  • Avoid peak spring cleanup weekends if hauling a large load-lines get long and maneuvering space becomes cramped.
