Disposal Service, Inc. (DSI) Landfill

1100 State Route 34 South, Hurricane, WV 25526

800-963-4776

Disposal Service, Inc. (DSI) Landfill in Hurricane is the big burial site out on Route 34 where residential and commercial loads end up. Locals drop off pickup loads, contractor trucks, and everything the town no longer wants buried. Because West Virginia’s terrain funnels traffic through valleys, this is the place folks from nearby hollows come to with full trailers.

There’s a gated entrance with a scale house up front where trucks get weighed-expect to stop twice if bringing a trailer. Pull into the lane, show any required paperwork at the booth, then follow the workers’ hand signals or traffic cones to the active tipping area. The site is largely open dirt and compacted cells; on wet days the access roads can get slick and muddy. After dumping, most vehicles head back over the scale for final weighing before leaving.

Before You Go

  • Bring a tarp and straps: loads aren’t always contained during travel and items can shift when driving the short, sometimes rutted access road.
  • Leave extra time in wet or winter weather: the mountain runoff and occasional snow can slow access and make the site slippery for small trucks and trailers.
  • Bring a copy of any manifests or delivery paperwork if hauling commercial loads so unloading goes smoother at the booth.
