(509) 427-3926A county solid waste site in Stevenson where locals drop off household trash, recycling and yard clippings. Folks from around Skamania County use it for routine cleanups and that occasional load that won’t fit in the curbside can. It sits on Ryan-Allen Road and has the look of a working transfer/collection yard rather than a tidy storefront.
Drive up to an entrance with a small office/booth and a scale is likely on the property, so be prepared to stop more than once if there’s traffic. Recycling and yard-waste areas are usually separate piles or containers a short walk or drive from the booth, and larger trucks and trailers are common on site. The surface is mostly gravel and pavement with heavy equipment visible in the background, so watch for moving vehicles. Weekends and spring cleanup times tend to be the busiest, which can mean waiting in line to get to the drop-off points.
