Republic Services BZ Corners Transfer Station

5 Fir Tree Rd, White Salmon, WA 98672

(509) 493-4434

Small local transfer station run by Republic Services just off Fir Tree Road in White Salmon, used mostly by residents dropping off household junk, yard clippings and the odd construction load. It’s the kind of place people swing by when hauling stuff that won’t fit in the curbside bin and they don’t want to drive all the way to a distant landfill.

Drive up the lane to an entrance booth and be prepared to stop - transfer stations usually have a scale and charge by weight, so there’s a pause coming and going. Vehicles pull into marked lanes, unload into open bays or compactors, then back out to finish at the scale; it’s more hands-on than a home pickup. The site looks industrial: gravel/paved yards, big roll-off containers and a few piles or bays for different materials. Weekends, especially spring cleanup, get busy and lines can form, so expect other trucks and trailers around.

Before You Go

  • Sort yard waste and recyclables at home before driving in - Washington facilities often require separation and it saves time on-site.
  • Bring a tarp and straps for loose or dusty loads; keeping things covered helps prevent material loss and makes unloading neater.
  • Plan to go early in the day on weekends or pick a weekday if possible; shorter lines mean faster turnaround for typical residential loads.
