Transfer Station

BDI Transfer

1721 Dietrich Rd, Pasco, WA 99301

(509) 547-6666

BDI Transfer is the small transfer station off Dietrich Road that locals use when hauling household trash or yard cleanups. People drop off loads here to be compacted and shipped out to a landfill elsewhere, which saves a trip to the big county landfill.

Pull into the entrance and there’s a booth where traffic is directed; plan to slow down and line up behind other trucks or pickups. A scale is crossed on the way in or out and fees are commonly calculated by weight, so expect a brief stop for weighing. The transfer area is mostly concrete bays and open tipping floors with large compactors and roll-off containers; recycling and green waste areas are typically separated nearby. Weekends and spring cleanup times get busy, so there can be a line to get to the booth and then to the tipping area.

Before You Go

  • Have loads sorted as much as possible before pulling in - loose loads covered and recyclables or green waste separated if possible.
  • Use a truck or trailer layout that lets helpers unload from the curb side; backing into bays can be tight with other vehicles around.
  • Bring straps or tarps for loose material and expect to wait in line during weekend mornings and during seasonal yard waste peak times.
