TEEL L.C.C. | The East End Landfill (SRWS)

1820 Darbytown Rd, Richmond, VA 23231

(804) 226-8625

This is the East End Landfill run by Teel L.C.C., the big county landfill out on Darbytown Road that Richmond contractors and homeowners use when hauling big loads. Trucks and trailers are common here, and the place feels industrial rather than tidy - it's where trash gets buried. Locals swing by with construction debris, yard waste, or big cleanouts when curbside won't cut it.

There's a weigh scale and an attendant booth at the entrance, so drivers pull up, check in, and then go on to the tipping area; weights are what determine the fee, not flat rates. The site is mostly open cells and compacting equipment, with piles and heavy machinery visible from the drop-off points. Expect to stop again on the scale on the way out since final charges are weight-based. Weekends and spring cleanup see more traffic, so lines can back up into the access road.

Before You Go

  • Bring a tarp or straps for loose loads - wind blows stuff around and they can be picky about unsecured material.
  • Have vehicle paperwork handy (registration or proof of ownership) for commercial trucks or trailers; it speeds up the booth process.
  • Avoid peak times if possible: weekday mornings or late afternoons are usually less crowded than weekend afternoons.
