A straightforward county transfer station where local residents and small haulers drop off household trash for compaction and onward hauling to a landfill. Located just off Evington Road, it’s the kind of place people use when hauling household cleanup loads that would be a long drive to a landfill.
Drive up to a staffed entrance booth and be prepared to pull over briefly - there’s often a scale you’ll cross so expect to stop again on the way out. The yard is mainly open pavement with large roll-off areas and a compactor bunker; signs and arrows point toward where to unload. Recycling containers sit to one side past the booth, and trucks come and go with trailers or straight-loaders hauling compacted material away. Weekends, especially in spring and fall, can get busy and lines form at the gate.
