Small county solid waste site in Hot Springs used by residents hauling household trash, yard clippings and the odd recycling drop-off. Locals swing by with pickup loads or small trailers - not a big regional operation like those up in Northern Virginia. The place feels like a working yard rather than a showroom.
There’s an entrance lane with a booth and a working yard beyond it, so prepare to slow down and follow directions from whoever is at the gate. Pull-up spots for unloading are fairly obvious once past the booth, with recycling bins usually off to one side and open tipping areas for other loads. Expect to see commercial trucks mixing with residential vehicles; drive cautiously and watch for people walking between piles. Lines build up on weekends and during spring cleanup, so factor that into timing.
