Uintah County/Vernal City Landfill on E 500 N at Brush Creek Road is where most Vernal household and commercial loads end up. It’s a working landfill - trash gets buried here, there’s a scale for weighing loads, tipping fees are charged by weight, and commercial haulers are accepted. People bring anything from pickup loads to trailers.
Drive in and cross a scale near the entrance; both inbound and outbound weigh-ins are common so plan for a short stop. A small booth sits by the entrance and there’s an open gravel area to line up before being routed to the active dumping area. The site looks like dirt piles, compacted refuse and large equipment moving around, so expect dust and uneven ground. Weekends and spring-cleanup times often have lines, so allow extra time.
Learn how to properly dispose of common items.
