Uintah County Land Fill

2801 E 500 N, Vernal, UT 84078

(435) 789-6018

A county landfill on the east side of Vernal that locals use for household cleanouts, construction scrap, and the usual residential-haul stuff. It's the sort of place where pickups and trailers are common and trucks come and go throughout the day.

A small entrance booth greets vehicles as they pull in, and there's typically a scale to stop on for weighing - plan for a short pause in traffic flow. The site is mostly open dirt and gravel with piles and drop-off points spread out, so expect dust, especially on dry, windy days. Drivers usually pull up to the booth, get routed to a drop zone, and then head back past the scale on the way out. Weekends, and spring cleanup times in particular, tend to be busier and can create a backup at the gate.

Before You Go

  • Cover and secure loads before leaving home-wind and dust can turn an uncovered load into a mess by the time it gets dropped off.
  • Bring basic tools (shovel, gloves, tarp) to make unloading quicker since most spots are open dirt and there isn’t a lot of paved footing.
  • Try to avoid weekend afternoons during spring cleanup; midweek mornings are usually quieter and move faster.
