Summit County/Three Mile Canyon Landfill is the big county dump just outside Coalville on Three Mile Canyon Road where household and commercial loads get buried. Local residents, haulers and contractors bring everything from pickup loads to large truckloads here. It’s a working, industrial site - not tidy, but it gets the job done.
Drive up to a small entrance booth/scale house at the gate and be prepared to stop on a scale; tipping fees are typically charged by weight or sometimes by volume. Commercial trucks are accepted and there’s room for larger vehicles to turn and dump. The property is mostly dirt roads with heavy equipment, large piles of cover and refuse, and it can be dusty or windy. After dumping, vehicles usually return to the scale before leaving and traffic can backlog at busy times.
