(435) 336-5297Summit County 3 Mile Landfill is the county landfill just outside Coalville, used by local residents and commercial haulers hauling trash to be buried. It’s a big, open site on Three Mile Canyon Road that handles larger loads than the small transfer stations on the Wasatch Front.
Drive up the road to the entrance booth and be prepared to pull onto a scale - they charge by weight, so vehicles usually stop twice. The tipping area is wide and dusty, with compacted dirt ramps and piles of cover material nearby; on dry days expect dust and gravel underfoot. Commercial trucks are common, and there’s room to maneuver a trailer or roll-off truck. Lines form on weekends and during spring cleanup, so plan for short waits at the gate and the scale.
