(435) 888-4113Republic Services ECDC Environmental Landfill is the regional burial site just outside East Carbon, used by local residents, haulers, and commercial trucks hauling final-disposal loads. Visible from the highway, it handles the kind of large-scale dumping where trash gets buried rather than recycled or processed.
A weigh scale and an entrance booth are on the first stretch of pavement; loads are charged by weight, so expect to stop on both sides of the scale. Big roll-off trucks and semi trailers are common, and there’s a lot of open, graded cells and compacted soil caps across the site. Dust can be noticeable on windy days-Utah’s dry climate shows up here-so vehicles often come out dusty, especially in summer. The layout is spread out rather than crowded, with room to maneuver trailers and trucks around active tipping areas.
