Purgatory C&D Landfill is the big burial site out on Landfill Rd that handles construction and demolition material for the Washington area. Contractors and hauling companies use it as much as homeowners cleaning out projects, and the site is built to handle heavy commercial traffic as well as smaller drop-offs.
There’s a scale as you drive in and trucks are weighed, so expect to stop and then stop again on the way out. An entrance/billing booth sits near the road; after weighing drivers are directed to open tipping cells and large rock-and-dirt stacks. It’s an open, exposed site - dusty and windy at times because of Utah’s dry climate - and watch for big haulers moving slow through the yard. Tipping fees are charged by weight and the facility accepts commercial loads, so plan for the scale process and truck traffic.
