Long Valley Sanitary Landfill

Long Valley Sanitary Landfill, 1 mile S. of Glendale on Hwy 89, Glendale, 84729, Utah

Long Valley Sanitary Landfill is a landfill about a mile south of Glendale on Highway 89. People hauling household junk and commercial loads use it as the final place for buried disposal; tipping fees are charged by weight and commercial loads are accepted.

Drive in and you’ll pass an entrance booth and a scale - they charge by weight, so expect to stop again on the way out. Follow the driveway to the active dumping area; the road in is often gravel and can get dusty. Heavy equipment moves material around, so the place can be noisy and look like a series of built-up mounds. Weekends, especially during spring cleanup, tend to have the longest lines.

Before You Go

  • Keep loads covered and tied down so wind or bumps don’t scatter debris on the road in.
  • Try for a weekday morning if possible - weekend backups are common during seasonal cleanups.
  • Position your vehicle so it can roll slowly onto the scale and then back out for the outbound weigh; commercial hauls are weighed and charged by weight, so plan accordingly.
