Transfer Station

Logan City Landfill and Transfer Station

153 North 1400 West, Logan, UT 84321

(435) 716-9777

Small, utilitarian transfer station on the edge of town that people from Logan and nearby areas use when they don’t want to drive out to a distant landfill. The place handles residential drop-offs and short-haul commercial loads, with trucks compacting material before it heads out to a bigger dump. It’s the sort of place visited for spring cleanup runs or when a pick-up truck is full.

Drive up to a single-lane entrance where an attendant booth sits near the driveway; most vehicles pull up there first to check in. The lot is open and dusty in dry weather, with ramps and a concrete tipping area where loads are emptied and compactors or transfer trailers are staged. Look for recycling or drop-off containers off to one side and large compactor equipment further in; expect to drive back over a scale or through a weigh station area typical of transfer stations. Weekends and spring cleanup times often have a line, so there can be a short wait before getting to the tipping area.

Before You Go

  • Bring a tarp or tie-downs for loose debris-wind and dust are common in Utah’s dry climate and stuff can blow out of open beds.
  • Have items sorted before you get to the booth so unloading goes quicker; curbside-type loads are faster than mixed, loose piles.
  • Go with a full truck rather than multiple small trips when possible; the site moves faster with fewer, fuller loads and reduces time spent waiting in line.
