Davis Landfill

1997 E 3500 N, Layton, UT 84040

(801) 614-5600

Davis Landfill in Layton is the big county landfill out by 1997 E 3500 N that both homeowners and haulers use when garbage needs to go to the final burial spot. Expect to see a steady mix of pickup trucks, trailers and commercial roll-offs here during the week. The place handles typical landfill traffic for the area and charges tipping fees, and commercial loads are accepted.

Drive up to a small entrance booth and get ready to stop at a scale - charges are generally by weight so most vehicles stop twice, once in and once out. The site is large and open, with rows of compacted cells and dirt ramps; in Utah’s dry climate it can get dusty, especially on windy days. Pull into the lanes directed by the attendant or signs, unload at the instructed spot, then head back over the scale for the exit weigh. Recycling/drop-off bins, if present, are usually set off to the side near the entrance area.

Before You Go

  • Have loads covered and secured for the drive; dust and wind can blow loose material off trailers on the approach roads.
  • Bring a tarp and straps for small trailers - tipping areas often require loose loads to be contained before unloading.
  • Avoid peak weekend cleanup times in spring if possible; queues can get long and turnaround slows down.
