Located at 8101 Little York, Whispering Pines Landfill is the place people head to when curb collection won't take a load or when contractors need to drop solids for burial. Neighbors, small haulers and commercial trucks all show up here - it’s a working landfill, not a recycling center.
Drive up and you'll see a small entrance booth where drivers check in and are told where to go. There’s a scale on site and tipping fees are commonly charged by weight, so expect to be weighed and to stop again on the way out. The grounds are wide open with dirt roads, berms and piles of covered material rather than neat bins; visibility is good but maneuvering can be tight for big rigs. Commercial loads are commonly accepted and handled through the same entrance flow as residential trucks.
