Expect a drive-in layout with an entrance booth and traffic lanes for different vehicle sizes; there’s often a scale nearby since many transfer stations weigh loads. The tipping area is a large paved pad with concrete walls and compactors or roll-off containers for sorting and loading onto larger trucks. Lines can form on weekends or during neighborhood cleanups, so there may be a short wait to pull up to the booth and then the tipping area.
