Waste Management - Mesquite Creek Landfill

1700 Kohlenberg Rd, New Braunfels, TX 78130

(830) 625-7894

Small-city landfill on the east side of New Braunfels that locals and landscapers use when hauling big loads. You’ll see everything from pickup trailers to dump trucks here, mostly people dropping off brush, construction debris and household junk. It’s the kind of place where scale tickets and tipping fees are the rule, not the exception.

Drive past an entrance booth and then over a scale so the site can weigh your load - they charge by weight and you’ll stop again to get the outbound weight. The site is open, dusty and has heavy equipment moving around; there are large capped cells and working faces where trucks tip off. Pull up to the instructed dumping area and follow the flow of traffic; semi-trucks and dump trailers need extra room to maneuver. Weekends and spring cleanup can get backed up, so expect a line if it’s a busy day.

Before You Go

  • Cover and tie down loose loads to keep debris from flying and to avoid extra handling when dumping.
  • Have any needed vehicle or load paperwork handy, especially for commercial drops, since landfills typically weigh and document commercial loads.
  • Wear closed-toe shoes and be ready for uneven, dusty ground; back-in spaces and turning for trailers can be tight, so take it slow.
