(713) 937-1332A large landfill run by Waste Management out on Fairbanks North Houston Road, used by folks hauling big loads from the city and nearby neighborhoods. Trucks, trailers and pickup loads all go there; it's the kind of place people visit when the dumpster or regular pickup won't cut it.
Drive up the main entrance and you'll see an entrance booth and a scale; loads are weighed and tipping fees are based on weight, so plan for a weigh-in and weigh-out. There are big open cells and dirt ramps instead of paved bays, with heavy equipment working the piles in the background. Pull up to the booth to check in, then follow the signs to the drop area; larger commercial trucks usually have a separate flow for unloading. Lines can form on weekends and during spring cleanups, so bring patience and be ready to stop at the scale again on the way out.
