San Angelo Landfill is the municipal landfill off Old Ballinger Highway in San Angelo, Texas. Locals, commercial haulers and anyone getting rid of large loads use this place when trash and construction debris need to be buried instead of recycled. It’s the kind of site where things are dropped, compacted and covered-final destination for non-recyclable material.
Drive in and you’ll see an entrance booth and a scale on the driveway-landfills in this area typically charge tipping fees by weight, so expect to stop on the scale. The site is large and mostly open: dirt roads, mounded cells and heavy equipment working in the distance are common sights. Pull up at the booth for direction and then proceed to the active tipping area to unload; expect to drive back over the scale on the way out. Weekends and spring-cleanup times often mean lines and slower service, especially with larger commercial rigs.
