McCommas Bluff Landfill on Youngblood Road is the big Dallas landfill where both neighborhood pickups and commercial haulers drop off. It’s a landfill - the final place where trash gets buried - so expect a working industrial site with heavy equipment and wide haul roads.
Pull up to an entrance booth and drive across a scale; tipping fees are calculated by weight, so most vehicles get weighed in and out. The site is expansive with mounded cells, compactors and loaders moving around, and separate spots for different types of loads. Commercial trucks are common here, so be ready to share the yard with larger rigs. Weekends, especially during spring cleanup, can have lines and slower traffic through the gate.
Learn how to properly dispose of common items.
