IESI Turkey Creek Landfill is the large burial site off South I‑35W in Alvarado that takes both residential and commercial loads. Locals, haulers, and contractors bring stuff here when smaller convenience centers won't take it.
There’s an entrance booth and a vehicle scale - tipping fees are charged by weight, with residential minimums common and commercial loads billed differently. After the scale, pull up to the dumping face or follow the lane to the drop-off; the site is expansive with heavy equipment moving piles and dusty roads. Expect lines on weekends and during spring cleanup season, when traffic through the scale and tipping area slows down. The interior roads have unpaved stretches, so trucks and trailers can get dusty or muddy depending on the weather.
