City of Wichita Falls Landfill sits out on Wiley Road at the Wichita Falls/Iowa Park edge and is where local households and commercial haulers bring trash to be buried. It's a large working landfill - think long access roads, heavy equipment, and open cells rather than a tidy drop-off station. People from the surrounding rural areas use it for bulk loads and cleanup runs.
There’s an entrance booth and a scale; tipping fees are charged by weight, so expect to stop on the scale on the way in and again on the way out. Pull up to the booth, then follow the lane to the active dumping area where loaders and compactors work the piles. The site is wide and mostly gravel, with big trucks moving slowly and turning wide, so give them room. Weekends and spring cleanup tend to be the busiest times, and lines at the scale can form.
