City of Waco Landfill on Old McGregor Road is where locals haul everything from household cleanouts to commercial loads for final burial. Like most municipal landfills it has a scale and charges tipping fees by weight or load, and commercial haulers are handled here.
Pull up to a small entrance booth and stop to check in before driving on; there’s a scale you’ll cross so expect to be weighed and to stop again when you leave. The site is large and mostly open - gravel roads, heavy equipment moving dirt, and rows of active cells and capped areas. Lines build up on weekends and during spring cleanup, so traffic and dust are common. Unloading is straightforward but can take a few minutes if crews are placing material or rerouting trucks.
