City of Snyder Landfill

City of Snyder Landfill, 3621 S FM 1673, Snyder, 79549, Texas

City of Snyder Landfill is the town’s municipal dump out on S FM 1673, the place locals and haulers take trash that’s headed to the ground. Contractors, pickup-loads from residents and commercial trucks all show up here - it’s the final stop for waste from around Snyder and the surrounding rural area.

There’s a weigh scale and an entrance booth near the driveway - landfills typically charge tipping fees by weight or by load, so expect to stop at the scale and again when you leave. Pull up slowly, follow the flow of trucks to the active face, and back in to tip where the dozers and loaders are working the piles. The yard is mostly packed dirt and compacted trash mounds; it’s dusty in dry weather and can get muddy after rain. Commercial loads are commonly accepted at municipal landfills, but they usually have a different fee structure than residential drops.

Before You Go

  • Secure everything on the trailer or truck with tarps and straps - loose debris blows out on FM 1673 and creates a mess (and extra cleanup).
  • Treat the scale like a two-step stop: slow down going in, tip at the cell, then stop again to be weighed out so there are no surprises with fees.
  • Avoid weekend afternoons and spring-cleanup weekends if possible; lines can stack up and turnaround times stretch.
