The City of Fort Worth Southeast Landfill on Salt Road in Forest Hill is the large municipal dump where Fort Worth trash ends up. Neighbors and commercial haulers both use it; as with most landfills, tipping fees are charged (typically by weight) and commercial loads are usually accepted. It’s the final stop for trash rather than a transfer or recycling center.
Expect a wide, open site with heavy truck traffic and dusty, gravel roads - big roll-off trucks and pickups are common. There’s an entrance booth/scale setup typical of landfills, so vehicles often pause to be weighed and then head to the active tipping area to unload. The tipping face is exposed and spread out rather than sheltered; after unloading, drivers usually loop back toward the scale/exit. Weekends, especially during spring cleanup, can back up with a line of vehicles waiting to get in.
