City of Corsicana Landfill

City of Corsicana Landfill, 2050 Jester Drive, Corsicana, 75110, Texas

City of Corsicana Landfill on Jester Drive is the city dump where household and commercial trash gets buried. Locals hauling big cleanup loads and commercial haulers use this site; it’s overseen by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and, like much of Texas, facilities can be spaced a good distance apart.

Drive in and there’s typically a scale house near the entrance where vehicles stop to be weighed; tipping fees at landfills are generally charged by weight, so expect to be weighed in and out. After weighing, proceed to the active cell or unloading area-look for dirt ramps, compacted piles, and heavy equipment moving around. The surface is often gravel and dusty, and loose material can blow if not covered. Weekends and spring cleanup times tend to be busiest, so lines and wait times are common.

Before You Go

  • Cover and tie down loose loads so material doesn’t blow out on the road; a tarp and straps cut down on mess and extra time.
  • Be ready to stop at the scale both entering and leaving-since fees are usually weight-based, consolidating loads can save trips.
  • Wear closed-toe shoes and gloves; the unloading area is rough and there can be sharp or awkward items to handle.
