Angelina County Waste Management Center on FM 58 is the county dump folks from Lufkin and the surrounding area use for big loads and things the curbside pickup won’t take. It’s a working site with trucks, trailers and the kind of setup that looks more like a yard than a retail place. Most people swing by when they’ve got yard waste, old furniture or a trailer full of junk.
Pull up to the entrance where there’s a booth and a driveway-there’s usually a scale and a short stop at the gate. After that, follow the flow of traffic to the drop-off pads and roll-off containers; surfaces are a mix of gravel and concrete and heavy equipment moves around. Look for piles of brush, metal and general trash and be ready to back a trailer into a bay or climb up onto a pad. Weekends, and especially spring cleanup weekends, tend to get backed up so lines can form.
Learn how to properly dispose of common items.
