Volunteer Landfill

300 Roberta Ln, Oneida, TN 37841

(423) 569-5702

Volunteer Landfill is the county landfill serving Oneida and surrounding areas in Scott County, Tennessee. Locals and small commercial haulers bring trash here when curbside pickup or convenience centers aren’t an option. It’s the final burial site for trash, not a transfer or recycling center.

Drive up a graded driveway to a scale house where loads are typically weighed - tipping fees are generally charged by weight and can vary by locality. The site is large, with open cells and dirt roads; trucks and trailers often need room to maneuver and reverse to the drop point. Pull into the check-in area, get weighed, tip the load into the active cell, then stop back at the scale for an outbound weigh ticket. Weekends and spring cleanup times can be busy, so expect some queueing and dusty conditions on site.

Before You Go

  • Secure tarps on loose loads to avoid littering while driving to and from the site.
  • Bring a vehicle that can safely back and position a trailer - some drops require backing onto a slope or spoil bank.
  • Keep the weight ticket until leaving the property; weighing happens both in and out so that it can affect the tipping charge.
