(615) 384-0683County-run transfer station used by Springfield residents who don't want to drive all the way to a distant landfill. This is where household and yard trash is dropped, compacted, and then hauled off to a landfill elsewhere. Locals use it for bulky cleanups and routine drop-offs alike.
Drive in to a fenced site with a small entrance booth and a pull-through area where trucks handle material; transfer stations like this typically have a scale and a staffed gate. Pull up to the booth or lane and wait to be waved into the unloading area; there will usually be a paved pad or pit where trash is tipped and compacted into larger trucks. Recycling or drop-off containers are often grouped to one side of the property rather than mixed in with the general trash. Weekends and spring cleanup weekends can get backed up, so expect a line during busy times.
