Polk County South Polk Convenience Center

Small county convenience center off Old Federal Road that locals use to drop off household trash, recyclables, and yard debris. Mostly used by residents of South Polk County and nearby Old Fort neighborhoods. Easy to find at 1030 Old Federal Rd with a low-key, functional feel rather than a big transfer station.

Drive in past a simple entrance booth and pull up to a looping drive where multiple roll-off style containers sit in a row. One set of bins is usually for mixed trash, another for recyclables and another for brush or yard waste; containers are clearly separated and easy to drive up to for quick unloading. The site is not huge-think small county lot with gravel or pavement and room for a few trucks or pickups to maneuver. Weekends, especially in spring and autumn, can get backed up with trailers and pickups.
