Marion County Landfill

210 Lawyers Bldg, Jasper, TN 37347

(423) 942-8011

Marion County Landfill is the big county dump out past town that people and small businesses in Jasper use when curb pickup won’t take something. It’s the actual burial landfill for garbage in the county, so expect a larger, industrial property rather than a drop-off center. Local haulers and residents both bring loads here; landfills of this kind typically handle commercial deliveries as well as household trash.

There’s a scale house near the entrance where trucks stop to be weighed, and tipping fees are assessed by weight rather than by item. Drive slowly through the gate, follow the gravel or paved road to the working face, and wait your turn if others are backing up - big trucks move slower and take priority. The site is large and mostly open, with areas piled high where incoming loads are spread and buried, so visibility can be dusty on windy days.

Before You Go

  • Cover loose loads with a tarp or tie things down before leaving town - windy stretches between Jasper and the site can blow lightweight stuff out of pickups.
  • Bring a short, sturdy ramp or have help ready for heavy items that need to be tossed out of a truck bed; the drop to the working area can be higher than expected.
  • Plan to arrive midweek or early in the morning if possible; weekends and spring cleanup times tend to get backed up with long lines of trucks.
