Landfill

Landfill Convenience Centers

105 Tracy Academy St, Charlotte, TN 37036

Small regional landfill serving Charlotte and the surrounding area, mostly used by residents getting rid of household junk and by local haulers. It's the kind of place people stop at when a pickup bed's full or a contractor needs to drop off material.

Drive up to a single entrance where there’s a visible scale building; the site measures and charges tipping fees, commonly by weight, with county-level rates that can vary. Pull forward to the booth/scale area to be weighed, then move to an assigned dumping spot on the landfill face and come back across the scale on the way out. The site is large and open, with gravel drives and piles of compacted material; weekend lines and spring cleanup traffic are the most common slowdowns. Commercial loads are usually handled at landfills, but exact acceptance rules and fees differ by location.

Before You Go

  • Sort and tarp loads before getting to the gate so unloading is faster and nothing blows out on the drive.
  • Avoid late morning weekends if possible-mornings during the week tend to move quicker.
  • Have a plan for heavy items (appliances, construction debris) so time at the drop face is minimized and others aren't held up.
