Jackson-Madison County Landfill at 550 Aaron Long Road is the county landfill that locals and commercial haulers use to get rid of large loads. It’s a working, large-scale landfill where trucks and pickup loads both show up on a regular basis.
The site is big and a little rough-gravel drives, heavy equipment moving, and visible dump faces in the distance. There’s a weigh scale area near the entrance, and landfills normally charge tipping fees by weight so expect to be weighed. After the scale, follow the traffic flow toward the active dumping area where trucks back up and unload. Weekends and spring cleanup times get busier, so lines and waits are common then.
Learn how to properly dispose of common items.
