(423) 639-4416Greene County Transfer Station in Greeneville is the local spot where household trash and county loads get compacted and put on trucks to head to a landfill. Neighbors drop off everything from small carloads to trailer loads when hauling straight to a distant landfill would be a pain. The site is used mostly by residents and local haulers looking for a nearer place to unload.
The driveway leads to an entrance booth where vehicles slow down and check in, then follow the lane toward the tipping area. There’s a large paved pad and a couple of big concrete bays where dumpsters and compactors sit; expect to back up to a bay or pull up to a scale area. Recycling and drop-off bins tend to be off to the side, not mixed in with the main tipping pad. Weekends and spring cleanup days get the longest lines, so plan for a short wait during busy times.
