(931) 879-5988Small county transfer station out on S York Hwy used mostly by local residents hauling household and yard debris. A basic place where loads get dropped, compacted and shipped off to a landfill elsewhere. Good option if driving to the distant landfill isn't desired.
There’s an entrance booth and a drive-up scale, so plan to slow down and stop twice - once in and again on the way out if they weigh vehicles. Vehicles pull up to the unloading area after the booth; the site is functional rather than tidy, with large compactors and open bays. Expect some noise from trucks and compacting equipment and dusty gravel surfaces in places. Weekends and spring cleanup days tend to be busier, with lines forming at the booth.
