Estill Springs Transfer Station

9577 Tullahoma Hwy, Estill Springs, TN 37330

(931) 649-3032

A small county transfer station where local residents drop off household trash that gets compacted and loaded onto trucks bound for a landfill. Used mostly by people from Estill Springs and nearby communities who prefer a nearer drop-off point instead of driving all the way to a distant landfill.

Expect a plainly laid-out site with an entrance/exit lane and an attendant booth near the driveway; many transfer stations have a scale, so be prepared to pause and possibly drive across one. Pull up slowly to the booth and follow the attendant’s directions for where to unload or where to drive for larger loads. The actual tipping area is typically a concrete pad with a compactor or hopper nearby, and there’s often a separate spot for recycling or bulky items at the side of the yard. Weekends and spring cleanup times can get busy, so there may be short lines of trucks and trailers waiting to get in.

Before You Go

  • Secure loose items and cover loads before heading in so nothing blows out while waiting-people usually have to unstrap and unload from the curb.
  • Have proof of residency handy; many county facilities ask for a driver’s license or utility bill to show you live in the area.
  • If hauling a trailer, know how to back up and have a spotter ready; tight turns and drop-off points can be awkward, especially with larger rigs.
