Solid Waste Facility

Dickson County Solid Waste

1001 Cinder Rd, Cumberland Furnace, TN 37051

(615) 789-5588

Small county solid waste site used by residents of Cumberland Furnace and nearby parts of Dickson County. It handles general household trash, recycling and yard-type drop-offs, so locals swing by with everything from old furniture to lawn clippings. Expect a working lot rather than a tidy retail place - this is practical, not polished.

Drive up to a gated entrance with an attendant booth; there’s usually a short line on weekend mornings. Pull forward to the booth first, then follow the signs and traffic flow to the different drop-off points for trash, recyclables and yard waste. The yard is gravel and roomy enough for trucks and trailers, with dumpsters and open bays for bulk items. Lines get longer in spring and after storms, so give yourself extra time if cleaning out a garage.

Before You Go

  • Separate materials at home into piles or separate trucks - it saves time unloading and moving between containers.
  • Bring gloves, sturdy shoes and tarps; the ground can be muddy or dusty and items often need to be handled by hand.
  • Go early on weekdays or mid-afternoon on non-holiday weekdays to avoid the weekend backup.
