Brown County Landfill is the county dump out on 379th Avenue near Aberdeen - where people bring the loads that won't fit at the curb. It’s a working landfill, the final place trash gets buried, and it’s used by homeowners and larger haulers alike. Expect a big, open site rather than a tidy transfer station.
Drive up to a gate/booth and cross a scale on the way in; tipping fees are typically based on weight and the site uses a scale system. Pull forward to the scale and then to the dumping area or active cell; there will be piles and heavy equipment moving around. The ground is usually gravel or dirt and can be rutted after bad weather, so drive cautiously. Plan for a brief stop back on the scale when leaving since charges are often calculated by weigh-in/weigh-out.
