York County Eastview Recycling Center in Rock Hill is the county-run spot locals use to keep recyclables out of the landfill. Regular folks drop off boxes of cardboard, bottles and cans, and mixed paper here; neighbors and small loads are the usual crowd.
Drive up to a small entrance area with a booth and traffic flow for cars and trucks; there’s usually a scale somewhere near the entrance so expect to slow down a bit when pulling in. The recycling containers sit to the right past the entry point, and larger drop-off bays or roll-off areas are visible behind them. Signs on the containers list common items accepted-paper, cardboard, plastics, glass and metals-and there are often separate bays or cages for special items. Weekends and spring cleanup weekends tend to be busiest, so queues can form and maneuvering a trailer takes extra patience.
