A regional landfill run by Waste Management that handles both household and commercial loads. Located off Hwy Church Road in Elgin, it’s the place trucks and pickup loads end up when there’s no other option nearby.

There’s a concrete scale and an entrance booth near the driveway, so plan to slow down and stop to be weighed. Big roll-off trucks and dump trucks are common, and the site is large with open tipping faces and dirt roads rather than paved lanes. Loads are charged by weight, so expect to drive across the scale before and after unloading; commercial haulers use the same process but are handled as larger, billed loads. Lines build up on weekends and during spring cleanup, so traffic control and a few waiting vehicles are typical.
