(803) 776-2324Richland County Recycling Center in Eastover is the county-run recycling spot most residents use when they want to keep cardboard, cans, bottles and other recyclables out of the landfill. Locals, yard-service drivers and anyone cleaning out a garage swing by here rather than hauling things to the transfer station.
Drive in on Garners Ferry and look for a small entrance booth and a pull-through area where vehicles queue; there’s usually a place to stop for check-in and then a scale farther in so trucks and trailers may be weighed. The recycling bins are clustered together-paper, cardboard, metals and mixed containers are typically sorted into different containers-and larger items are handled in their own spots. The site is fairly open and industrial-looking: concrete pads, roll-off bins and a few signs showing what goes where. Weekends, especially during spring cleanup or before storm season, can get backed up so expect a line at peak times.
