(843) 767-2445Republic Services Spring Grove Landfill in Ladson (listed on Palmetto Commerce Parkway in North Charleston) is a large landfill used by local haulers and commercial trucks. It’s where loads get buried rather than recycled, so expect an industrial, working site. Typical users are contractors, commercial haulers and homeowners bringing big pickup or trailer loads.
There’s an entrance booth and a scale; tipping fees are charged by weight so plan for a stop on the way out. After the scale, expect to be directed to an active cell or unloading area and then return to the outbound scale. The site is expansive with dirt and gravel drives, heavy equipment and compacted piles - dust and smells are common on dry days. Weekends and spring-cleanup times tend to back up, so allow extra time then.
